Marco and Laura tracks shift west, less impact forecast for New Orleans

The National Hurricane Center now says Marco may not be a hurricane when it comes ashore in Southeast Louisiana Monday afternoon.

The latest forecast has the system downgraded to a tropical storm again before or very shortly after landfall.


Tropical Storm Laura, meanwhile, is now forecast to come ashore near the Texas - Louisiana line early Thursday as a stronger, Category 2 Hurricane.

New Orleans is no longer in the cone of error for Laura.
