Would the Krewe of Caesar be interested in moving to the City of Kenner and remaining in Jefferson Parish?
Captain Bob Carnesi recently announced that Caesar is ending it's successful run after 40 years, but Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn is inviting them to parade in Kenner. In fact Zahn said the doors are open to any event that would want to come to the city of Kenner, if it helps economic development and of course Jefferson Parish's largest parade is more than welcome.
"My deal, as the mayor of the city of Kenner is to make sure that Kenner's doors are open to anything that's a reasonable business or a reasonable attraction, now some things are not conducive to the neighborhoods but something like this, my doors are open, and I believe my council will agree with me and I've had calls to the Chief of Police and he agrees," Zahn said.
He does stress that before Jefferson Parish would lose a parade, than Kenner would gladly help out, but he stresses he does not want to take anything away from Metairie.
In the city of Kenner, we are not in the business of taking things from our own parish," Zahn stated.
Zahn says there is even a parade route that they've come up with and if not this year, maybe next.
