Microsoft to host Game Camp in New Orleans

Microsoft wants gamers in New Orleans to show off your skills.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios announced it will host a free, hands-on, game development camp. The gamer-camp will be open to aspiring game developers of all skill levels in New Orleans, beginning April 21, 2020.

Microsoft created the “Xbox Game Studios Game Camp Powered by Unity” to encourage individuals in Greater New Orleans to realize their potential in the gaming industry, through unique learning experiences from industry leaders.  As part of the camp, Microsoft will provide access to Unity game development licenses, as well as access to 3D tools from Autodesk. 

The six-month program is made possible through a partnership with Louisiana Economic Development, Greater New Orleans Inc., the New Orleans Business Alliance, and the New Orleans BioInnovation Center.

GNO, Inc. was introduced to Microsoft via inXile Games, a part of Xbox Game Studios.  GNO, Inc. helped bring InXile to New Orleans from California in 2015; inXile currently employs more than 40 people in New Orleans.
