A strong low pressure system sweeping into the area Sunday night brings with it a slight risk of severe storms.
"First, Sunday morning looks mild and foggy, then expect a warm and breezy afternoon with a few scattered thunderstorms," said local weather expert, WWL-TV meteorologist Alexandra Cranford. "After sunset and especially overnight Sunday into early Monday, showers and storms are expected to become more numerous.
"A few of the storms may also turn strong to severe. The main severe threats will be damaging wind gusts and hail, although an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. This does not look like a widespread severe weather event, but the there will be the potential for at least a few isolated severe storms."
