Murder in Harahan

Cops are investigating a murder in a residential area of Harahan.

It happened at a home at 2105 Generes Dr. in Harahan.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says one male victim was killed.

JPSO Sheriff Joe Lopinto says the victim lived at the home and was shot after he got into his car, trying to leave Sunday night around 7:45pm.

He says the man lived in the residence with his girlfriend.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and suspect or suspects.

No one else was injured.

Lopinto says it is the first murder in Harahan in the past six years.

He says it does not appear to be a random act.

Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reports that the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred earlier tonight in Harahan.
At around 7:45 pm, the Harahan Police Department and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 2100 block of Generes in Harahan in reference to a shooting.  Upon their arrival, they located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male was seated inside a vehicle, which had left the roadway crashed into a fence.  The male was treated by emergency medical services on scene, but was pronounced dead.
There is no suspect or motive information available at this time.  The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
