The Magical Krewe of MadHatters has officially joined the 2020 Mardi Gras parade lineup in Metairie, Jefferson parish officials announced today.
The Alice in Wonderland-themed parade will feature 26 floats, and the parades first Mad Hatter will be former New Orleans Saints quarterback and WWL host Bobby Hebert. Singer/fiddle player Amanda Shaw will ride as Alice; WWL's Scoot will ride with her.
MadHatters will roll at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, making i tpart of Jefferson Parish's Family Gras celebration. It will be followed by the Krewe of Centurions at 6:00 p.m. Centurions re-scheduled to the first big weekend of carnival parades, giving up it's old Friday-before-Fat Tuesday slot.
Another change this year in Metairie: the return of the Krewe of Atlas, which hasn't paraded in five years. They will parade on Sunday, February 16, at 4:00 p.m.
