A New Orleans man faces more than a decade in prison after his conviction for hiding a camera in a bathroom and capturing video of a 16-year-old girl showering.
District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro's office says Nathaniel Robinson, "surreptitiously recorded extensive video of a juvenile girl sometimes in his care while she was undressed in a private bathroom."
An Orleans Parish jury deliberated less than three hours before returning the verdict.
"The panel found Nathaniel O. Robinson guilty as charged on one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and 17 counts of video voyeurism. Robinson, 37, additionally was found guilty of 16 lesser counts of attempted indecent behavior with a juvenile."
The D.A. says Robinson faces up to seven years in prison for the indecent behavior with a juvenile and up to 10 years for video voyeurism involving a juvenile. He will also be required to register as a Louisiana sex offender for a minimum of 25 years.
The 16 counts of attempted indecent behavior with a juvenile counts each are punishable by up to 3 1/2 years in prison.
Sentencing is set for September 13th.
"The offenses took place inside an Orleans Parish home in 2016, when the juvenile girl was 16. New Orleans police were contacted after the girl discovered the video files on a computer belonging to Robinson."
