New Orleans is on track to break its lower murder rate trend.
According to WWLTV, so far, New Orleans has seen 27 murders this year. That breaks down to 16 murders in January and 11 in February. Two of those 11 murders were just last Saturday. The first murder of 2020 happened on New Year’s Day. There were a total of 119 homicides last year, the lowest since 1971.
If this continues New Orleans will be on track to break its trend of lowering murder rates for the past three years.
