The City of New Orleans has suspended parking restrictions on neutral grounds and sidewalks until 8:00 a.m on Monday.

This will allow residents to move vehicles to higher ground as possibly heavy rains are expected in the area Sunday.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the metro area until Monday morning, although this could be extended longer. We could easily see 2-3" or more with some areas receiving near 5". Localized flooding could be an issue.

Area residents are encouraged to prepare for heavy the rainfall and potential flash flooding today.

Some restrictions still apply. Do not block intersections or streetcar tracks. Don't park on top of tree roots or under branches, for your safety and the safety of our trees.

When moving your car from the neutral ground, drive slowly so you don't make tracks in the ground.
