The New Orleans Police department says a tractor-trailer struck and killed a pedestrian this afternoon.
"Initial reports indicate that around 3:07 p.m., an 18-wheeler truck traveling northbound on Elysian Fields Avenue collided into a pedestrian as the truck was turning eastbound onto North Claiborne Avenue," said police. "The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene."
Police had no further details about the incident.
