New Orleans will provide meals for children while schools are shut down, Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced Friday afternoon.
New Orleans Public Schools will provide the meals starting Monday, March 16.
Mayor Cantrell says schools will be in touch with parents directly to explain the process during the first week of school closures. Then a city-wide nutrition program set up by the city will begin.
