The cyber-attack on the city of New Orleans continues to hamper city services. Work is already underway to get the city's information systems back up.

Once the intrusion was detected, the city ordered all its computers be shut down. New Orleans Chief Information Officer Kim LaGrue says they're still trying to figure out where it come from, and if possible, who sent it.

"The forensic investigation into our cyber attack is still ongoing," said LaGrue.

But she says they anticipate a full restoration.

"We are confident that the data we have is recoverable, and the plan, the disaster recovery plan that the city has designed is actionable," LaGrue said. "Our strategy to recover our data and return systems to normal is working."

LaGrue said what they don't have is timeline on when that will happen, so in the meantime, work that was being done on computer has reverted to pre-information age technology -- paper forms.
