Taysom Hill hasn't closed the door yet on continuing his NFL career, and it looks like a trip to Denver and a reunion with Sean Payton might just be in the cards.
The former Saints head coach told the NFL Network that his Broncos team would plan to "kick the tires" on bringing Hill in for camp, adding that he expected several others would as well. Payton said he and Hill have met up this offseason, but didn't discuss the QB's future. Hill shared a message last week declaring that his time in New Orleans was at an end and thanking the city, team and fans.
"I think we would definitely look closely at where is he at," Payton said, "and there’s a lot that goes into that."

"Year 2 typically with that type of injury, a player is much stronger,” Payton continued.
Hill missed the first month of the 2025 season as he worked back from the knee injury, ultimately appearing in 13 games and accounting for 114 yards and a touchdown on 52 carries, 11 catches for 91 yards and he also completed two passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. Hill finished his Saints career with 34 rushing TDs, 11 receiving TDs and 12 passing TDs.
A reunion would be fascinating to watch. Hill's career with the Saints began after he caught Payton's eye as a member of the Packers during the 2017 preseason. The former BYU standout was waived at the end of camp and was claimed by the Saints, kickstarting what became one of the most fascinating player roles in sports. He went on to star on special teams and as a rusher. Not long after he added receiving to his repertoire and also chipped in a a passer. Hill went 7-2 in his career as a starter, but never stuck in that role.
If Hill did join the Broncos, he'd be looking to carve out another role on a roster that is expected to contend for a Super Bowl. Denver reached the AFC Championship last season but had to play without starting QB Bo Nix, who fractured his ankle in the previous round of the playoffs. Payton's current roster and coaching staff already feature a host of former Saints, including FB Adam Prentice, TE Adam Trautman and WR Lil"Jordan Humphrey.
