The owner of the New Orleans Advocate, John Georges has purchased NOLA.com and the Times-Picayune.
The purchase means that the city's 2 major newspapers will operate under a single ownership.
A tweet from Bryn Stole of the Advocate, the publisher says, the newspapers will eventually be merged into a single news organization.
