NOPD investigates 3 separate shootings in Central City, 9th Ward and St. Roch

Police in New Orleans investigate three separate shootings on Monday.

According to NOPD intitial reports, detectives are investigating a homicide at the intersection of Music Street and North Rocheblave in the St. Roch neighborhood. An NOPD report says, "At around 7:49 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to reports of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 2600 block of North Rocheblave Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS."

About the same time NOPD are also investigating another shooting, which happened in the 1200 block of Andry Street in Central City according to NOPD spokesperson, Danielle Miller. That victim is suffering a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle.

Initial reports have not said when the shootings happened nor the condition of the victim in the Central City shooting. The investigations are ongoing.

These latest shootings come after the NOPD investigate a drive-by shooting which happened earlier on Monday in the 2800 block of Jackson Avenue. Police have not said if any of the shootings are related.
