The New Orleans Police Department has established a task force with the goal of enforcing Mayor Latoya Cantrell's and Governor John Bel Edwards' directives to not have gatherings, the department announced Sunday.
The NOPD has put together a special team of officers to investigate illegal gatherings reported to 3-1-1. The team is working with the city’s Safety and Permits Department. Businesses found in violation risk losing their license to operate in the city of New Orleans.

The task force consists of a team of officers who will investigate illegal gatherings reported to 311.
The tweet reiterates an announcement made by the Mayor who said Friday that businesses found in violation could lose their license to operate in the city. Gov. Edwards ordered Louisiana residents to stay home begining at 5 p.m. on Monday. The directives are aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Louisiana has more than 800 reported cases.
