New Orleans Police investigate a fatal shooting in Algiers. An initial police report says officers responded to the shooting near the intersection of Lebouf Street and Vespasian Boulevard about 7:20 p.m. Monday night.

When officers arrived they found one adult male, one adult female and one juvenile male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The adult male victim was pronounced dead on the scene but the female and a 3-year-old child were transported to the hospital. The 3-year old victim died at the hospital early this morning, making the shooting now a double homicide. The female victim's condition is not known at this time. Police say a car drove up and opened fire on the three victims.
