New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating two fatal shootings that happened around the same time in different parts of town.
Police say around 3:30 p.m. Friday, officers were sent to investigate a call of shooting in the 8400 block of the I-10 service road in New Orleans East.
"At around 3:30 p.m., Seventh District officers received a call of aggravated battery by shooting," said police in a statement. "Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim suffering with a gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene."

According to police, a second victim from that incident showed up at the hospital, having arrived by a private vehicle.
Around the same time, a call of a shooting brought officers to outside the Dollar General in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue. Police say a male victim was at the scene with a gunshot wound. New Orleans EMS brought him to the hospital, where the victim died from his injuries.
