NOPD looking for stolen school bus

A school bust was stolen from a parking lot in New Orleans East early Wednesday morning, and the New Orleans Police Department is asking the public for help finding it.

"At about 1:00 a.m., a Thomas school bus owned by Atlantic & Southern Transportation Company was stolen from a parking lot in the 11000 block of Chef Menteur Highway," said police in a news release.

"The bus is described as being yellow in color and last seen bearing Louisiana license plate A108192. The bus also features the number “16827” on its fenders and on its hood."

The bus is a similar make and model to the one pictured here.

Police say anyone who has information should call NOPD Seventh District detectives at (504) 658-6070, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP). Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward.
