A New Orleans Police sergeant is on suspension pending the results of an internal investigation. As The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports it comes after social media posts referring to protesters as "animals" and saying he would use lethal force on them if he believed it was necessary.

The comments linked to Sgt. Anthony Edenfield included one about a man run over and killed by a FedEx truck in St. Louis last month, saying the man "got what he deserved."
