A Slidell area daycare worker is under arrest. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says the woman broke a child's arm.
"On July 8, workers at a daycare facility on Rosemeade Drive in Slidell contacted the parents of a 2-year-old child to inform them their child was injured and needed to be brought to a hospital," Sgt. Suzanne Carboni said. "Once at the hospital, X-rays confirmed the child’s arm had been broken."
The parents contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, which launched an investigation.
Detectives say one of the daycare workers, Leann Simon, had grabbed the child's arm, twisted it behind the child's back, then attempted to use that arm to lift the child off the ground.
Simon faces on count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
