The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a double shooting that left one dead and one injured in New Orleans East.
Seventh District officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 7200 block of Bunker Hill Road shortly before 10 p.m.
They arrived to find an adult male victim who was pronounced dead on the scene. An adult female victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS.
Investigators are still in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
It's the third shooting death in the same block of Bunker Hill Road in two months. It's the fourth fatal shooting on that block in less than a year.
On June 2, 38-year-old Nicolas Pierre was shot there and taken to the hospital, where he died from his wounds the next day.
Two days later, on June 4, 21-year-old Nia Lassai was shot and killed in the 7200 block of Bunker Hill Road as well.
Months earlier, a woman was murdered in the there early in the morning on Oct. 6, 2018.
No arrests have been made in any of the homicides.
