Parade weather: Tonight and Sunday look good, Saturday iffy

Will it rain during parades this weekend?

WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum says a few showers may make it wet for lineup times of tonight's parades, but the bulk of the rain should be gone as the sun sets and the parades roll.

He says Saturday doesn't look so good.

"A strong cold front will move across the area," Nussbaum forecasts. "Expect mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and storms. A few storms could be strong to severe ahead and along the front."

The morning will see less rain than the afternoon and evening.

He says it is likely a squall line of strong to severe storms will move through during the evening with some gusty winds. 

"This will impact the evening parades, so plan accordingly."

Sunday parades should be in great shape.

"Sunday will be a gorgeous day with plenty of sunshine, a breeze and low humidity. This will be perfect for all the parades! High temperatures will be around 70."

TODAY:Morning dense fog, then mostly cloudy and warm with a 40% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Highs around 82. Wind S 8-15 mph.

TONIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING:Cloudy and mild with a 20% chance for isolated showers and patchy dense fog.  Lows around 71.  Wind S/SE 3-5 mph.

SATURDAY:Morning dense fog, then mostly cloudy, windy, humid and warm with a 60% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some could be strong to severe. Highs around 82.  Wind S/SW 15-25 mph.

SUNDAY:Plenty of sunshine, breezy and cooler.  Cool lows around 58.  Highs around 70.

MONDAY:Partly cloudy and cool.  Chilly lows north of the lake around 43 and cool south of the lake around 50.  Highs around 66.

TUESDAY:Mostly cloudy and milder with a 30% chance for spotty showers.  Chilly lows north of the lake around 49 and cool south of the lake around 55.  Highs around 70.

WEDNESDAY:Morning dense fog, then cloudy, breezy and mild with a 40% chance for scattered showers and storms.  Lows around 63.  Highs around 75.

THURSDAY:Morning dense fog, then mostly cloudy and mild with a 30% chance for spotty showers and storms.  Lows around 63.  Highs around 72.
