"There's a threat for some severe weather across southeast Louisiana this evening and into tonight," said Channel 4 meteorologist Dave Nussbaum. "A strong cold front will move through with a chance of strong to possibly sever storms containing damaging winds, a few tornadoes, and large hail."

It could mean rain for tailgaters ahead of tonight's Saints game, and strong wind and rain as fans file out of the Superdome after the game around 10:30 to 11:00 p.m.

Temperatures will also drop significantly, dipping into the mid to upper 40s overnight.
