New Orleans Police say a train hit and killed a person early Friday morning.
"NOPD Officers are investigating an unclassified death near the intersection of Marais and Press Streets," Public Information Officer Danielle Miller said in an email. "Officers responded to a call of a traffic accident Friday morning (Feb. 8) around 3:24 a.m."
He says when they got there, they found the person.
"Upon arrival, officers discovered a pedestrian who was struck by a train at the location. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS."
The investigation continues.
