The Louisiana Fire Marshal's Office say pork cooking all night triggered last week's devastating fire at Gendusa’s Italian Market in Kenner's Rivertown.
A spokeswoman says investigators traced the blaze to pork roasts cooking overnight.
Public Affairs Director Ashley Rodrigue told NOLA.com that the old age of some of the kitchen’s equipment may have contributed to the blaze.
Early the morning of June 16th flames erupted in the historic building housing the restaurant on Williams Blvd.
The fire shot through the roof of the structure constructed in 1903.
