
Many people are still without power this morning after severe thunderstorms swept through Louisiana last night.
The storm brought damaging winds and heavy rain to the north and south of the lake. According to Entergy’s outage map, over 50,000 customers were affected by power outages at the height of last night’s storm.
As of this morning, power has been restored to many Cleco and Entergy customers but few still are without lights. In the Covington area about a dozen homes and businesses are still in the dark with no electricity.
Entergy customers in the New Orleans area are still seeing patches of power outages. People in Mid City along N Carrolton Avenue are still in the dark as of 7:00 a.m. and in the Milan neighborhood residents are without power at this time.
Over in Jefferson Parish, more than 300 Entergy customers in River Ridge, over 1,300 customers in the Estelle Neighborhood on the Westbank, and over 1,800 Entergy customers in Bridge City are still waiting for the lights to come back on.
In Plaquemines parish, 1,170 Entergy customers in Belle Chase are still waiting for their power to be restored.
