Secret Service releases list of what cannot be brought to the Championship game

With President Donald Trump coming to the College Football National Championship Game at the Superdome Monday Night, that means there's whole bunch of stuff you can't bring in! 

It's not just the President's safety The Secret Service will be working with local law, state, and federal law enforcement agencies are worried about, your safety and enjoyment is top line, too.  

If you're going to the game, you're going to be required to undergo an additional level of security screening. 

Fans, you have to be prepared for a search of all items before entering the Superdome.  

Law enforcement personnel reserve the right to prohibit any other items determined to be a potential safety hazard.

The list of prohibited items is as follows (in alphabetical order):

  • Aerosols
  • Ammunition
  • Animals other than service/guide animals
  • Backpacks
  • Bags and signs exceeding size restrictions
  • Bicycles
  • Balloons
  • Coolers
  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
  • Explosives
  • Firearms
  • Glass, thermal or metal containers
  • Laser pointers
  • Mace/Pepper spray
  • Packages
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Structures
  • Signs exceeding the size restrictions (20’ x 3’ x 1/4”)
  • Support for signs and placards
  • Toy guns
  • Explosives
  • Recreational motorized mobility devices
  • Weapons of any kind

Security is already going to stepped up following the attempted break-in and shootout between two suspects and Superdome Officers early Saturday morning.  

So... To save yourself a lot of grief and a trip a holding cell, leave those above items at home or in your hotel room.
