A man attending the Buku Music + Art project on the New Orleans riverfront had to be rescued from the Mississippi River, The New Orleans Advocate reports.

According to The Advocate, firefighters say the man climbed a chain link fence during the festival held near Mardi Gras World on the east bank, then fell. He was found 600 feet downriver, 10 to 15 feet underneath the wharf clinging to a piling.

It happened during a period of high water and very fast currents on the river.
