A report on the building inspectors who signed off on work at various stages of the ill-fated construction of the Hard Rock Hotel in downtown New Orleans finds some of them lacked proper credentials.
According to The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate and WWL-TV, one inspector was only qualified for residential buildings, and another had signed off on four reports on the Hard Rock site before receiving a commercial building inspector's license in the summer of 2018.
That same inspector, Julie Tweeter, is already under scrutiny for discrepancies in her vehicle records that put her blocks away from the Hard Rock on days when she signed off on inspection reports for the doomed construction.
The Hard Rock collapsed October 12, killing three workers. Remains of two workers remain trapped in the building, set to be imploded in late March.
