We all know that much of the Gulf Coast is Saints country. Louisiana State Senator Wesley Bishop wants to make sure anyone on a road trip through southern Louisiana knows it.
Bishop is sponsoring a bill to designate the I-10 in Louisiana, from the Mississippi state line all the way to Texas, as the "Who Dat Nation Highway."
The bill would require the Department of Transportation and Development to "erect and maintain signs of this designation provided local or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to exceed $1,100 per sign."
If approved, it would become effective the first of August.
