Saints set up for back-half of 2019 schedule: What do they need to do to win?

It's Week 9 of the NFL season, and the Saints are coming off their bye and into the back half of 2019.

When the season began, there was a lot of talk about how the Saints had five playoff teams from last year in the first half of the schedule. Now at 7-1, the Saints have to run a gauntlet of division opponents and one as-yet undefeated team.

"Sometimes it's not who you play but when you play'em," said WWL NFL analyst Mike Detillier. "So you've got a bunch of NFC south teams that you're finishing out the year with, tow games against Carolina and San Francisco's been pretty hot."

Detillier says at the halfway point of the season, it's time for some players like pass-catchers NOT named Michael Thomas to step up.

So what else can the Saints do better these final eight games?

"The one area I think they'd like to improve upon is turnovers," said Detillier. "Getting more turnovers on the defensive side of the football."

Detillier says with the pass rush the Saints have been creating, there should be more interceptions.
