Temperatures on the rise as a warm Gulf storm system will make its way into the region for the weekend.

WWL-TV’s Dave Nussbaum says a severe storm will hit the area starting Saturday.

“We now have a level 3 Enhanced Risk for severe weather across ALL of SE Louisiana on Saturday.  A squall line of thunderstorms will move in starting around 9 AM and they will continue until 1 PM.”

The area should get around 1-2” of rain from the fast moving system.

“These storms will be capable of producing damaging winds, tornadoes and some large hail across the entire viewing area. Heavy rain will also be possible and we could pick up 1-2"+.  You will need to find ways to get weather warnings all morning.”

Nussbaum says Saturday is not a complete rainout, things should clear out by 3pm.  Sunday looks good with partly cloudy skies, lower humidity and highs in the 60’s.

Unfortunately by Monday the clouds are back and rains are expected to dampen the mood, and the tailgating, as another front moves across the region.
