New Orleans police say a woman stopped to fill up at a gas station around 1:00am.
"Victim was pumping gas, and her friend was standing inside of passenger side door," according to the NOPD Major Offense Log. "Suspect, who was walking by, threw friend to the ground, jumped in the driver's seat and drove off."
They classified it as a carjacking in the 1600 block of Tulane Avenue. That's between University Medical Center and Tulane University Hospital.
The report described the suspect as "Unknown black male, light complexion, black shirt, black shorts, no shoes."
The driver is a 39-year-old woman.
