The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Terrytown.
It happened early Sunday morning about 12:30 a.m. on the corner of Fredricks and Helen Street.
An initial report from the sheriff’s office says, “Deputies located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near a vehicle in the roadway. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.”
A sivler sedan was seen in the middle of Helen Street with several bullet holes and the windows shot out. Deputies had the street blocked off and surrounded by crime scene tape.
A crowd of on-lookers gathered as the police worked to gather evidence. Residents in the area says they heard several loud booms as the gunfire erupted.
