Things aren't looking all that great for Sunday, especially from about 2 p.m. through 5 p.m.
But, Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras will be dry...though a bit chilly.
We'll be able to watch the weather change through the day Sunday.
Rain gear will likely be needed to start the day of parading. And, you may want to dress for warm, muggy conditions, as well.
Some storms are expected starting about 2 this afternoon, but they should clear out by 6 or so.
WWL-TV meteorologist Chris Franklin says that means Bacchus, scheduled to roll at 5:15 p.m. may get off to a wet start. But, he thinks most of it will roll without rain. And, it'll certainly be dry by the time it reaches the Convention Center.
"Though the chance of rain before 5 pm today is 90 percent, that does not reflect 90 percent of the day...only 90% of the area. It won't be dry by a long shot, but it also won't be a complete washout."
By this evening, temps will quickly begin falling into the 60s, then 50s and 40s for Lundi Gras morning.
We're looking at a somewhat chilly Lundi Gras, with highs briefly reaching the low 50s with filtered sunshine and breezy. Morning lows Mardi Gras morning will begin in the 30s and 40s and once again struggle to reach the low 50s plus still breezy. However we will see more sunshine on Mardi Gras.
Ash Wednesday looks sunny and chilly, with a gradual warm up toward the end of the week with rain chances returning late Friday and Saturday.
