State officials are reporting another resident from Lambeth House nursing home in New Orleans has tested positive for coronavirus. This brings the total to at least four people with the virus from the retirement center.
Governor John Bel Edwards says there will be new restrictions in place at the retirement homes, “For the next 30 days there will be restrictions on visitation at nursing homes.”
“I’m asking people to understand that what we are doing is for the benefit of your loved one,” said Governor Edwards.
He says the restrictions doesn’t mean you cannot check-in on your loved ones, “Take the opportunity to call them, take the opportunity to Skype with them. Governor Edwards also says the measures are about saving lives.
So far, 14 patients tested positive for coronavirus in the state of Louisiana.
