Two of the new cases are in New Orleans,  and the St. Tammany case is a New Orleans resident hospitalized on the Northshore.

All six cases so far have been New Orleans area residents. The earliest case is a Jefferson Parish resident hospitalized at the VA hospital in New Orleans. Tuesday afternoon, two more cases were announced, with the patients at University Medical Center and Touro Infirmary.

The new cases, all unrelated to one another, prompted New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell to cancel several upcoming public events, including the kickoff to Wednesday in the Square, and this weekend's slate of St. Patrick's and St. Joseph's parades.
