The National Weather Service has cancelled the tornado watch for the New Orleans area. Skies are already clearing to the west as the rain and bad weather moves eastward.

"We're seeing them come to an end from the west to the east," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexandra Cranford. She says once the squall line clears the area, dryer air will be soon to follow.

"Later on this evening , we should be done with the rain," she said. "Later on tonight, some dryer air works in."
