A tropical disturbance in the Gulf is not forecast to bring an organized tropical storm to Louisiana, but is expected to send rain this way.
"The deepest moisture arrives on Thursday and Friday," WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum forecasts.
He's got a 60% chance for scattered showers and storms both days.
The National Hurricane Center gives the system a 50% chance of becoming a tropical depression before it hits Mexico.
"It is not a threat to us other than bringing us some heavy rain Wednesday through Friday" he explained. "We could pick up 1 to 3+ inches over the next three days."
That will drop high temps from record breaking upper 90s early this week to upper 80s for highs tomorrow through Friday. Yesterday we saw a new record high of 98 degrees for June 3rd in New Orleans.
