The National Hurricane Center is keeping its eye on a trough of low pressure over the Bahamas.
A trough of low pressure located over the northwestern Bahamas is producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity," according to NHC Senior Hurricane Specialist Dr. Jack Bevin.
The weather system is moving northwestward toward the Florida peninsula, and then is expected to be steered to the northeast.
"Some slow development is possible as the disturbance turns northeastward and moves over the western Atlantic," said Bevin. "Regardless of development, locally heavy rains are possible over portions of the Bahamas and the Florida Peninsula during the next couple of days."
