Two people robbed of their cars in broad daylight

New Orleans Police report two violent incidents in Gentilly Tuesday left drivers without their cars.

The first happened just after noon in the 3500 block of Touro St.


"Unknown suspect approached victim, pushed victim down, entered victim’s vehicle and fled in vehicle," according to a police report which classified the crime as a carjacking.

The driver is a 46-year-old man.

The second crime occurred shortly after 3:00pm when a driver didn't turn off her vehicle, but got out of the car in the 5500 block of Vermillion Blvd.

"Victim left vehicle running. While on porch, suspects approached vehicle. One suspect produced gun. Suspects fled in victim's vehicle."

The report says there were four male suspects.

The victim is a 55-year-old woman.

NOPD classified the crime as an armed robbery with a gun.
