Entergy has restored electricity to more than half of the 12,000 customers who initially lost power some time around 8am this morning.
The outage maps shows the area currently without power is along in the old town section of Gretna, Terrytown, and Harvey.
Entergy is reporting a sizable outage on the Westbank.
The communities of Algiers to Terrytown, down to Harvey and Gretna are without power.
WWL-TV reports the outage hit just about 8am.
The utility says they will try to have power restored by 10am.
