The 5 people hurt near a Metairie playground were hurt by debris and not gunshots, according to JPSO officials.
The shooting happened when the victims were driving near the intersection of West Metairie Avenue and Airline Park Boulevard near the Mike Miley Playground and happened around 5 p.m. today. Their vehicle was shot 3 times. Police say the 5 people in the vehicle were injured by debris but did not suffer wounds by gunshots.
The victims were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Ages of the victims are not available.
