Aaron Dun, the 33-year-old registered sex-offender from Birmingham has led sheriff’s from St. John the Baptist Parish and New Orleans Police on pursuits and eluded officers both times.
Dun’s second pursuit in a week began with much like the first—when Louisiana State Patrol officers attempted to apprehend the fugitive.
Dun escaped capture when he crashed the car he was driving near the intersection of Carrollton Avenue and D'Hemecourt Street in Mid-City.
WWL-TV reports it is not known if the car he was driving was the same one he stole Tuesday while on the run from State Patrol officers in LaPlace.
After he crashed a stolen Kia Soul Dun is alleged to have forced his way into the home of an elderly mother and daughter and then forced the 73-year-old daughter into her car making off with it.
He dropped the woman at a nearby motel and escaped with the vehicle.
Other than the new charges in Orleans Parish, Dun is wanted by Louisiana State Patrol for the two pursuits and St. John Parish for home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Dun is a registered sex offender, and is wanted in Birmingham, Alabama on several outstanding warrants.
