December 6, 2019 New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board reports a 30-inch water main has failed in the immediate area.
SW&B says water main pressure is not low enough to issue a boil-water advisory.
The water main failure and subsequent flooding is precariously close to Tulane University's Yulman Football Stadium where a high school football championship game is scheduled for this evening.
Broadcast reports say the broken main was first discover by an Uber driver in the area around 2:30am.
