Will it rain on our parades?

Overnight and early morning rain blew threw Southeast Louisiana.

"We will see the rain from this system come to an end later this morning,"  WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum forecast early in the day.

However, more rain is head for the region.

"A warm front will move up from the Gulf today," Nussbaum explained. "This will make it warmer and more humid with some scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening."

The good news, is the evening will not be a washout.

"A few showers/storms will be possible this evening for the parades, so bring your umbrella and poncho."

Today's highs will be in the low 70s.

"Another weak upper-level wave will move through on Thursday. This will set off even more scattered showers and storms. A few could be strong to possibly severe," according to Nussbaum.

Most of that should be gone by parade time.

"There will only be a slight chance for a few showers for the Thursday Evening parades."

Friday, rain chances are lower.

"The weather should be pretty good for the evening parades."

Weekend Forecast: More warm and humid weather is on tap for Saturday.  We will still have to dodge scattered showers and storms as a cold front moves toward us.  This will make for some soggy parades. High temperatures will be around 80.  The cold front will move through on Sunday with scattered showers and a few storms. It will be warmer now with highs in the lower 70s.

Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras: the models are getting closer to agreement with the Sunday cold front.  This means we will start Monday with cloudy skies and spotty showers in the morning. Then it turns drier for the afternoon, but it will be windy and chilly with highs only in the mid 50s. It will feel like the 40s, so bundle up for the parades in the evening. The front will hang out along the coast for Tuesday, so we could see a stray shower with a mostly cloudy skies. We will be chilly with highs only in the lower 50s and it will feel like the 40s. Bundle up all day!
