New Orleans Police say an apparently mentally ill woman attacked and stabbed two people this morning outside a church on Canal Street.
"The incident was reported to NOPD at about 8:42 a.m. Initial reports show two victims - an adult male and an adult female," according to a news release.
It happened in the 4300 block of Canal.
"The adult female is reported to have suffered stab wounds to the neck and back and has been transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she is listed in critical condition."
The mas was treated on the scene for a cut to his arm.
"A female suspect, who is believed to have a mental disturbance, is in custody."
