New Orleans Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman Thursday afternoon. Police say it happened in the 14,000 block of Michoud Boulevard around 3:40 p.m.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m., police were called because of a shooting in the 2300 block of St. Anthony Street.
"NOPD Seventh District officers were notified of a body lying in a field next to a car in the area. ," police said in a statement. "Upon further investigation, officers found a woman with gunshot wounds in the chest region."
