Joe Cardosi is a native of South Lafourche, Louisiana who moved to New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina and returned to the Crescent City after the storm to pursue work in radio.

Joe’s that kind of talent who can do most anything! He started off co-hosting a morning show at KLRZ in Larose, Louisiana, then moved to WIST Radio in New Orleans. There, he produced multiple local radio shows, acting as a fill-in host and reporter for six years, before moving on to work with the New Orleans Pelicans. Joe produced and co-hosted the official team podcast as well as gameday radio broadcasts for the Pelicans for eleven years.

And, Joe’s got show biz chops! He ran successful comedy shows around New Orleans and was invited to perform at comedy festivals across the country. Joe was hand-picked to open for Louis CK during a run of shows in the Crescent City and also performed alongside Bill Burr, Mark Normand, Eric Andre, Theo Von, Doug Stanhope, Kyle Kinana, Sean Patton, and many more. Talent knows talent.

After eleven years of working with the Saints and Pelicans, Joe joined our WWL news team in 2024. You’ll hear Joe anchoring a newscast, delivering an interesting story, and offering tips to avoid drive time traffic jams in and around the Crescent City! Joe brings a unique perspective and nuanced voice to our dynamic WWL news team.

Oh…and Joe’s glad to join Bobby Hebert and Mike Detillier representing Lafourche Parish in the Big Easy. You’ll generally find him eating, drinking, and being merry around the Crescent City, when he’s not behind a microphone.
